Educational Trip to the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyroodhouse

Our amazing tour started from the Scottish Parliament. At the beginning we had very interesting, interactive and educated guided tour. During our guided tour we had short chat with Ms. Linda Fabiani, Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture. After that we met with Mr. Nigel Don (MSP). He sits on the Justice Committee and is the Parliamentary liaison officer to the Justice Minister. Our meeting with him was indeed useful and remarkable. We understood how the Scottish Parliament works, what MPS do, how are laws made and other interesting matters.

In the afternoon we went to the Palace of HolyRoodhouse. Founded as a monastery in 1128, the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh is the Queen's official residence in Scotland. The Situated at the end of the Royal Mile, the Palace of Holyroodhouse is closely associated with Scotland's turbulent past, including Mary, Queen of Scots, who lived here between 1561 and 1567. Successive kings and queens have made the Palace of Holyroodhouse the premier royal residence in Scotland. Today, the Palace is the setting for State ceremonies and official entertaining. We really enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh.

Hi

I read about your trip to Edinburgh and wondered whether you had heard of walk talk tours? - the downloadable audio tours of Edinburgh, London, York and Manchester for your iPod or MP3 player.

They are ideal for people who want to get to know a place and find out a little of the history.

Please take a look at www.walktalktour.com and see what you think.
